Can someone explain the perks of productions shooting in Atlanta over other areas? Especially pertaining to cost savings, etc.?

I hear all the time that there's so much work down there (at lesser pay?) but I'm also curious as to how that impacts unions, etc.
It's a wonderful life. 8-)

I could be wrong on this, so someone please correct me if I am.

BUT, pretty sure that Atlanta has a large portion of non-union talent, and as a right-to-work state, this enables productions to hire non-union actors. This is especially helpful when you're hiring a ton of zombies for the Walking Dead! :ugeek: This also makes the abundance of work much greater there.
